The app

the deck, in your pocket

The cards stay on the table. That is where they work. The app is for the moments the box is not with you, and for the few things paper cannot do.

It is being built now. Here is what it will do.

Eight things paper cannot do

  1. 01

Point your camera at a card

The app recognises it and opens its page from the guidebook. The booklet can stay in the box.

  2. 02

    Your patterns, over time

Log each draw and a line on what came up. After a few months you see which of the eight traps is yours.

  3. 03

    Say where you are stuck

Type or speak it. The app names the pattern and you draw from that stack only. It never answers, it only chooses which stack the question comes from.

  4. 04

    Draw one for someone else

Send a card to a friend who is stuck. They get the question, not advice.

  5. 05

    Every question in Dutch

The printed deck is English. The app carries both.

  6. 06

One question on your home screen

A widget with the card of the week. No need to open anything.

  7. 07

The cards that do not exist yet

Ideas sent in at thethinkingdeck.com/ideas appear here first as digital cards. You vote. The favourites get printed in the next deck.

  8. 08

    Room for the next deck

Built to hold more than one deck, so what comes after this one lives in the same place.

And one thing it will never do

no streaks, no badges, no answers.

The card asks. The app does not motivate you, does not compare you to anyone, and does not tell you what to do. Everything you write stays on your phone. No account.
